Arena of Life introduces a unique way to create and think about life. Here are some of the common terms found within the system and a starting definition. Each person will self-determine what these ultimately mean so please explore your unique definition beyond what is presented here.
Arena of Life is designed to accompany you on your journey as a creator. The template and levels will help you design and organize your life into distinct Arenas with clear intentions and actionable initiatives.
An Arena is a place or 'area' for you to create what you want to experience. In this way you can use it 'for' anything you want. It can be a place to expand or learn, accomplish something or plan a personal mission. An Arena is a realm or field in which you want to engage, play, and evolve. Arenas offer the full spectrum of possibility and can be used to explore and transform mental, physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of life. For more.
To intend something means to conceive it, plan for it and create a vision for how it will come about. Individuals typically carry multiple 'intentions' to be, to do, or to become in various areas of life. In Arena of Life, intentions are added within each Arena as the focus or desired outcomes. An initiative is an action you take with a clear purpose and passion. Typically, initiative is associated with a strong desire and a will to achieve or change an outcome. It is common to hear, for example, about passionate people starting an 'Initiative' for something that they feel would better serve the whole. In Arena of Life, initiatives are added to intentions as the actions or details that will bring the intention into personal experience. For more.
To reflect is to review inwardly. When we look in the mirror for example, we see a reflection of ourselves and we observe whats' there. We may see our nose or we may see that we feel happy. Reflections have many dimension to them and it is the one who is reflecting that determines the point of focus. In Arena of Life, reflecting is done all the time. Anytime you look at an Arena or a score or anything, you are observing something you've created and noticing what it means to you. There are also official 'reflections' that are done on each initiative that you created in order to track your progress over time. Reflecting can be quick or lengthy depending on how much thought and effort you put into your responses. Reflections are a personal contemplation and will take on more meaning as you evolve with each Arena and its attributes. For more.
Values are fundamental to life and they often determine the choices we make each day. Inherently they are the things we believe are important. They are the things we believe hold purpose and meaning in the context of our personal way of being and behaving and also in our relationships. In the context of Arena of Life, knowing and establishing your values can create a more favorable foundation from which to create. When you begin to create the elements in your Arena of Life with clear values, you will create from a place of internal alignment to the things that are important to you. For more.
Progress is a term that indicates movement. You can have forward progress or backward progress. You can even have non-moving or stagnant progress. In Arena of Life, progress is a term used to indicate how things are going. When doing reflections for example, you'll be asked how you are progressing. It may be a little, or a lot, it may be forward or backward. The actual choice isn't as important as the actual observation and knowing that comes from reflecting and that ultimately helps inform next steps. The progress marker will indicate this knowing and then serve as a single point in time measurement before your next reflection. Tracking progress is meant to be fun and less rigid than tracking target scores can be. Often times progress is 2 steps forward and 1 step back or circuitous or even mysterious and the progress is meant to allow for that kind of fluid flow of movement that we all experience in life. Overtime, understanding your progress patterns and trends can generate more celebration, patience and even empathy. For more.
Comparing is a natural human skill that allows us to evaluate situations and personal surroundings. In Arena of Life, the concept of comparing is related to your system and reflections. For example, use the compare feature to see scores from different intentions side by side, or look at all your initiatives within one intention to see whats making the most progress. One of the benefits of comparing is seeing how things are progressing overall and what may need more or less attention based on your desired outcomes. It also provides a holistic view of the various aspects within each Arena. For this reason it can assist with growing or expanding into new things with more balance or more awareness of all the interconnected elements. The compare visuals are designed to be representations of how you are doing based on your reflections and ultimately help you reflect more deeply and fully. For more.
Trends capture things that are occurring often. Trends can be upward moving or downward moving and often indicate momentum. Trend graphs consolidate trend data over time into a single view and illuminate these aspects as well as turning points, shifts and accelerations. In Arena of Life, trends graphs are provided to give enhanced perspective at each level. Trend graphs also provide the details of your reflections to support your review and contemplative process.
